【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardprovidesaframeworkfortheassessmentofsocial,economicandenvironmentalissuesinthesustainableuseofmaterials.Theframeworkcanbeappliedtoallpartsofthesupplychainandisintendedtosupportdecisionmakingaboutthesustainableuseofanytypeofmaterial.Thisstandardcoversconsiderationof:a)thesocial,economicandenvironmentalaspectsthroughoutthemateriallifecycle,covering:1)sourcingofmaterials;2)conversionofmaterialsintoproducts;3)performanceofaproductoveritsfunctionallifetime;4)endoflifeoftheproductandeitherthereuse,remanufacture,recyclingordisposaloftheproduct;and5)endoflifeofamaterialandeitherthereuse,remanufacture,recyclingordisposalofthematerial,withparticularemphasisonsocialperformanceintheusephaseofaproductlifeandenvironmentalperformanceoverthefulllifecycle,andtakingintoconsiderationthelongertermandlocaleconomicissues;b)howtobalancetheseaspectsagainststakeholderprioritiesintermsofsustainabledevelopment;c)guidanceontheuseofdecisionsupporttoolstoassesstherelativesustainabilityofmaterialchoice;andd)theimportanceofdataqualitywhencarryingoutasustainabilityassessment.NOTEThisstandardassumesthattheprojectbriefandmaterialdesignoptionshavebeenagreedpriortotheuseoftheassessmentframework.Thestandarddoesnotprovide:i)comparisonsbetweenspecificmaterials;ii)adviceonthepropertiesofmaterialsandproducts;oriii)recommendationsonspecificsoftwaretoolstosupporttheevaluationandcomparisonsofsocial,economicandenvironmentalaspects.
