【摘要】:ThepHofhalogenatedsolventsvariesaccordingtothenatureofstabilizersintheparticularsolvent.Solventswithalkalinestabilizers(amine-types)generallyhavepHsinthe7to11range,whereassolventscontainingneutralstabilizers(epoxide-types)generallyhavepHsinthe5to7range.VirginandreclaimedsolventsshouldhavepHswithintheseranges,dependentupontheclaimedmethodofstabilization.Thesevaluesshouldbewithintheacceptedlimitsasproposedbytheproducersoftheoriginalvirginsolvent.AloweringofpHfromtheabovevalues,onreceiptoruse,iscauseforconcern.Inthisevent,solventshavingepoxidestabilizersshouldbetestedforacidacceptance;solventhavingalkalinestabilizersshouldbetestedforalkalinity.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthepHofwaterextractionsofhalogenatedorganicsolventsandadmixturesthereof.ThistestmethodisapplicableforthedeterminationofthepHofwaterextractionsofvirgin,reclaimed,orusedsolvents.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
