【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportoutlinestestproceduresforevaluatingtheeffectsoftheinteractionsbetweendeployingsideairbags(SAB)andoccupants.Out-of-positionoccupanttestproceduresaredescribedinthisTechnicalReport,whilein-positiontestproceduresarecoveredinotherISOTechnicalReports,forexample,fullvehiclepolecrashtests[9]andinstrumentedarmevaluations[8].ThisTechnicalReportdescribesdummies,procedures,instrumentationandtestconfigurationsthatcanbeusedforinvestigatingtheinteractionsthatoccurbetweenadeployingsideairbagandavehicleoccupantinfrontandrearseats.Airbagsmaydeployfromthedoororsidetrimpanel,thearmrest,theseatbackorcushion,theroofsupportpillars,andtheroofrailarea.Occupantscanrangeinsizefromyoungchildrentoverylargeadults.Thesetestproceduresaresufficientlybroadtocovertheseareas.Statictestsareusedfortheseevaluations,sinceexternalforcesdonotacceleratethevehiclebuck.Engineeringjudgmentshouldbeusedinselectingtheteststobeconductedwitheachindividualsystem.Suchtestsshouldbeselectedtoproducethemostcomprehensiveassessmentofthesystem.Additionaltestsmayneedtobeconductedwithslightmodificationsofthedummypositioningtohelpensuretherobustnessoftheoccupantinteractionmeasurements.References[13]to[17]intheBibliographyprovidesomebackgroundonhumanimpacttoleranceandcriteria,whilereferences[18]and[19]describescalingtechniquesfordifferentsizeoccupantsandreferences[20]to[22]offerinterpretationsofdummyresponsesrelativetohumaninjurypotentialthatmaybehelpfulintheevaluation.
