【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesfortheprecisemeasurementofthechlorinecontentofaromaticswithminimalsamplepreparationandanalystinvolvement.Thetypicaltimeforeachanalysisisfiveortenminutes.Knowledgeofthechlorinecontentofaromaticsisimportantforprocesscontrolaswellasthepredictionandcontrolofoperationalproblemssuchasunitcorrosionandcatalystpoisoning,andintheblendingofproductstocommodityspecifications.Variousfederal,state,andlocalagenciesregulatethechlorinecontentofsomepetroleumproducts,includingaromatics.Unbiasedandprecisedeterminationofchlorineinaromaticsiscriticaltocompliancewithregulatorystandards.Whentheelementalcompositionofthesamplesdiffersignificantlyfromthecalibrationstandardsusedtopreparethecalibrationcurve,thecautionsandrecommendationinSection6shouldbecarefullyobserved.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofchlorinebymonochromatic,wavelength-dispersiveX-rayfluorescence(MWDXRF)spectrometryinaromatichydrocarbons,theirderivatives,andrelatedchemicals.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletosampleswithchlorineconcentrationsfrom0.5mg/kgto15mg/kg.Higherchlorineconcentrationscanbedeterminedbyquantitativelydilutingthesamplewithasuitablesolvent.Inapreliminaryrobustnessstudy,thelimitofdetectionwasestimatedtobe0.06mg/kg.1.3Indeterminingtheconformanceofthetestresultsusingthismethodtoapplicablespecifications,resultsshallberoundedoffinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardinformation,seeSection9.
